Procedure and Rules for Admission

1.

Any student meeting the cut-off percentage, for a subject may seek admission to that course of study, provided he/she has registered with the University by filling the OMR form.

2.

The Procedure for Calculation of percentage in "Best of Four" Subject shall be as prescribed by the University. Students who have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination will be considered for admission. Students seeking admission to this college will have to bring their parents/guardians invariably at the time of counseling for admission, and for signing the documents in the presence the teacher in charge of admission.

(Admission to all Courses is provisional subject to confirmation by the University under its rules).

3.

For girl students there shall be relaxation in the aggregate cut off wherever specially mentioned.

4.

At the time of admission, the applicants shall be required to produce following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies.

  • OMR form with original receiving stamp of the University.
  • Class X board Examination Certificate.
  • Class X Mark-sheet.
  • Class XII Mark-sheet.
  • Class XII provisional Certificate/Original Certificate.
  • Character Certificate (recent, not more than three months old).
  • SC/ST Certificate (in the name of the candidate) - for SC/ST Candidates.
  • OBC (Non-Creamy layer) Certificate in the name of the Candidate - for OBC candidates. The caste should be included in the Central List of OBC.
  • Transfer Certificate from school/college.
  • Migration Certificate from the concerned Board/University, for those students who have passed Senior Secondary Examination from outside Delhi, by the date specified by University of Delhi. Failure to do so shall result in cancellation of admission without any further notice.e
  • Two passport size self-attested photographs.
    (Candidates who fail to submit these documents shall not be considered for admission.)
  • Students who have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from outside Delhi are required to furnish an authenticated certificate of last examination passed from the Resident Commissioner of that state.

5.

Candidates whose results are not declared within the prescribed dates declared by University and those who are unable to comply with the requirements of the University in the submission of provisional certificates, marks-sheet etc. shall not be considered even for provisional admission.

6.

Any forgery of signature or documents would lead to summary dismissal from the college.

7.

The college reserves the right to refuse admission to any student without assigning any reason
thereof.

 

  Attestation of Documents

The University has decided to accept the self-attested copies of documents/papers provided by the
students. It is made clear that if any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the student will be debarred from attending any course in the University or its College(s) and in addition, a criminal case under relevant sections of IPC will be instituted against him.

 

  Admission on the Basis of Sports and ECA

The existing provision of not more than 5% Sports and ECA quota (subject wise) shall continue to be in force. The College shall decide the actual number of seats to be filled on the basis of sports, keeping in view the facilities available, requirement of the College and other relevant factors. Students seeking admission on the basis of Sports/ECA shall be required to undergo trials for the same. Admission under these categories shall be made on the basis of guidelines issued by the University. There shall be a separate Application Form for admission on the basis of Sports and ECA.

 

  Admission of Candidates Belonging to SC/ST/OBC

22.5% of the total number of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes (15% for Scheduled Caste and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, interchangeable, if necessary). In addition, 27% of the total number of seats is reserved for OBC candidates. The OBC candidates shall be given a relaxation in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination to the extent of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed for General Category Candidates.

All other qualifications, prerequisites, rules and regulations laid down for admission to different courses shall remain the same for SC/ST/OBC candidates too.

 

  Admission to Dependents of Armed Forces

5% of the seats in each undergraduate course are offered to the Children/Widows of the Officers and
Men of the Armed Forces including Para-military Personnel, in order of Reference given below. 
Such candidates are required to get their name registered at Room No. 218, II Floor, New Administrative Block, North Campus, University of Delhi (between June 2,2014 to June 16,2014 from 10:00 P.M. to 01:00 PM excluding Sundays) 

  • Widows/Wards of Defence personnel killed in action
  • Wards of serving personnel and ex-servicemen disabled in action
  • Widows/Wards of Defence Personnel who died in peace time with death attributable to military service
  • Wards of Ex-servicemen personnel and serving personnel including police personnel who are in receipt of Gallantry Award;

(Above categories are also applicable for Para Military Personnel)

  Admission of Differently Abled Students

There shall be no “Additional Eligibility Criteria” for PWD category. 3% seats are reserved for physically challenged candidates, having minimum 40% physical disability, for admission to undergraduate institutions.
The 3% reservation will be allocated as follows: 1% for persons with low vision or blindness; 1% for
hearing impaired; 1% for those with loco-motor disabilities and cerebral palsy. However, if sufficient
candidates are not available in a sub-category then candidates from other sub-categories should be
considered in their place.
Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility conditions shall be allowed while determining the
eligibility of differently abled students for admission to various courses in the college.

 

  Admission of Wards of Kashmiri Migrants

Such candidates are required to register themselves at the Delhi University North Campus, Room No.
218, New Administrative Block between June 05 to June 19, 2013 from 9a.m. to 1 p.m., excluding Sundays. Further information in this regard may be obtained from the aforementioned University office.
Admissions will be done on the basis of preference-cum merit (not more than 3 seats in one college and at least one seat in one stream i.e. Arts and Social Sciences, Commerce, Sciences and Mathematical Sciences.

 

  Nominees of the Nepal/Bhutan Government

Relaxation to the extent of 5% in the minimum marks shall be given to the nominees of the Nepal Government/Royal Government of Bhutan to determine their eligibility for admission to any course. However, this relaxation is not applicable vis a vis the cut off scores announced by the colleges for admission purposes.
 

  General Important Points

  • Rounding off of fraction of marks for determining eligibility is not permissible.
  • Marks of oral test shall be excluded for working out the percentage of marks in four subjects.
  • No relaxation in any of the minimum eligibility conditions is permissible.
  • Gap year would be no bar for purposes of admission to the undergraduate courses.

  Admission to Second Year Courses

No direct admission is permissible to the second year of any course.

  Migration from One College to Another

No migration shall be permitted except under exceptional circumstances and no student seeking admission to this college shall claim it as a matter or right. No migration is allowed in the Ist year. Migration to the college will be open to those students who have secured minimum 50% marks in the 1st year, subject to University permitting the same.

 

   Non Payment of College Dues

  1. If dues are not paid by the specified date a late fine of Rs. 10/- per day, subject to a maximum of Rs. 100/- will be charged.
  2. If dues are not paid within 10 days of the last date mentioned for payment without fine, the name of the defaulter will be struck off the college rolls without any notice to the student.
  3. The student whose name is thus struck off may, however, be readmitted under the order of the Principal on payment of re-admission fee of Rs. 5/- and other dues along with Rs. 10/- per day for delay period, purely on the discretion of the Principal.

 

   Refund of Security Deposit

Security deposit is refundable after deduction of outstanding dues. For this purposes an application should be submitted by the student on the prescribed form obtainable from the college office.
